About Our Inn

Originally a farmstead built in the mid-1800’s, the Red House Inn & Stable is nestled within the beautiful 16,000 acre Finger Lakes National Forest.

Located on the east side of Seneca Lake, its beautiful rolling hills of forest and woods contain over 30 miles of maintained hiking, nature, and cross-country ski trails along with innumerable stocked ponds. Trails are picked up right at the Inn.

The lovely restored farm house offers warm, comfortable rooms furnished throughout. A warm and comfy public room (living room), large veranda (porch), prayer garden in the orchard with a cozy gazebo, flower beds, and picnic areas are provided for your relaxation. A nicely equipped guest kitchen is also available for preparing lunches and snacks.

Planning a Romantic Getaway? Wedding ? Family Reunion ? call us. We delight in romance and making your event special.

For the vacationer, the Inn is located in the best known recreational area in the Finger Lakes Region. The world famous Glen Gorge in Watkins Glen, often called the “eighth wonder of the world,” is only a fifteen minute drive away. The world renowned Corning Glass Museum, Cornell University in Ithaca, landscaped swimming beaches, boat launches, and innumerable gold medal award winning N.Y.S. wineries are only minutes away.

Road in Autumn

This B&B is the only private residence within the Finger Lakes National Forest. Quaint and charming old home which was clean and cozy and very reasonably priced. Close to the winery trails of both Cayuga and Seneca Lakes. After a fun afternoon of wine tasting we enjoyed a relaxing retreat with a hearty breakfast followed by hiking on beautiful trails within walking distance of the B&B.”

Additional Info:

Read, listen to the birds, sit in the gazebo, or take a nap… it’s all you need to take a break. Once you’ve recovered there’s plenty to do. Hiking trails throughout the National Forest are just yards from the door, Watkins Glen is teaming with activity and Ithaca is minutes away.
Since we are Private Property surrounded by The National Forest, we have the property posted. The “No Trespassing ” signs are not for guests!

For the horse enthusiasts, there are horse trails across the driveway that take you through the Forest. Bring your own horses, stable them, and ride right from the Inn out to the miles of trails in the National Forest.
